The 2019 awards took place on Thursday 7th November at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kennington, London
The National SQP Awards is a key date in the animal health industry calendar and OvertheCounter, in conjunction with AMTRA and AHDA, is delighted to reward the best in the industry. We widely acknowledge that the focus of the National SQP Awards should be on the men and women that work in this sector across the UK – a business can only be as good as those that work for it.
What the Experts Say
Stephen Dawson, secretary general of AMTRA, says the National SQP Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the hard work and commitment of individual SQPs and businesses He says: “Judges are looking for an increased focus on professionalism and responsible use principles emphasise the pivotal role they play in the interactions between SQPs and customers. “As one of the judges, I look forward to finding out more about how SQPs around the country are putting these principles into practice.”
Bryan Lovegrove, secretary general of AHDA, is also on the judging panel. He says: “AHDA is always striving to enhance the professional standing of SQPs and by holding the National SQP Awards we get to celebrate the best of the best within the animal health industry. “The finalists act as ambassadors and inspiration to others. AHDA fully endorses and supports these awards.”
Award-Winning Comic Hosted the Event!
Stand-up comic Maisie Adam hosted the National SQP Awards. Despite only starting on the circuit in 2016, her anecdotal material and self-deprecating charm have quickly won her praise up and down the country. After previewing her first stand-up show Living On The Edge at the Ilkley Fringe, the Yorkshire-born comedian took her debut show on tour to theatres, festivals and comedy nights across the UK.
After receiving positive reviews from runs at Bath Comedy Festival, Hastings Fringe Comedy Festival, Southend Fringe and Guildford Fringe, the show was nominated for Best New Comedy at the 2017 Brighton Fringe. Later that year, Maisie entered the nationwide So You Think You’re Funny? competition, which has previously been won by many of her comedy heroes, including Peter Kay, Aisling Bea, Tom Allen, Davis O’Doherty and Lee Mack. On the competition’s 30th anniversary, Maisie won, becoming the fourth woman to have won So you Think You’re Funny?
